Chiropractors make sure that the joints are moving properly and that surrounding muscles are functioning well. A licensed chiropractor uses special instruments or their hands to manipulate joints in the body, which can help reduce pain and correct the body’s alignment and overall physical function. They do not prescribe drugs but look at the whole nervous and musculoskeletal system to treat the root of the problem, including back and neck pain, headache, and functionality of joints of the body such as jaws, shoulders, elbows, wrists, pelvis, knees, and more. Chiropractors often work in conjunction with traditional medical care to ensure you achieve optimize results.

In addition, Dr Higgins is a movement expert, utilizing adjustments (gently realign joints and increase range of motion), exercises and stretches (restore / maintain mobility & range of motion), biomechanics (efficiency / inefficiency of how you move), soft-tissue techniques (relieve spasms and tension in and around muscles), joint bracing (ie. Kinesio taping--to support sprained joints or muscles as they heal) and neurology, to eliminate pain and improve performance.

Master Trainer and Coach, Pat attended Indiana University, where he was a Division 1 athlete. After graduating and being commissioned as an Infantry officer, Pat Marques served in the Active Duty Army for 20 years in the Infantry and Special Forces, including combat tours in Iraq.

Upon retiring, Pat decided to try and combine his two passions - soldiers and fitness. Pat pursued his education and certifications in exercise science. He volunteered as a trainer at a Colorado Springs-based military non-profit to assist wounded, ill, and injured soldiers, where he first met Dr. Grove Higgins. He was able to work with soldiers through adaptive physical training, helping them deal with amputations, chronic pain, PTS, and traumatic brain injury. At this small non-profit, working with injured soldiers daily, Pat discovered the power of using a neurological approach to training to get out of pain and improve fitness and performance.

Along with attaining his BS in Exercise Science, Pat has completed over 600 hours of neurological training, becoming a Z-Health Master Trainer.
